A Major Achievement Sprouts Up in 2021 2021 brought a lot of creative excitement to our studio, including the towering 44-foot baobab tree designed for and currently being installed at the San Francisco Zoo. The new Lipman Family Madagascar Center at the SF Zoo will transport the visitor to magical Madagascar. The design of the tree, as well as its features and fabrication of the crown are complete. After transportation of the many component parts, onsite construction is underway with installation to be finished in early 2022. We always jump at the chance to take the lead on a project based in nature and requiring a deep understanding of the flora and fauna of the region. We always conduct extensive research for references as we sculpt models in 3D before real life fabrication. In addition to the iconic tree, we also created interior exhibits with insectariums and a projection cave that provides the visitor an audio/visual experience of being among the unique and incredible biodiversity of Madagascar. We can’t wait for visitors to check it out for themselves soon.Contact SAS Scientific Art StudioJanuary 6, 2022San Franciso Zoo & Gardens Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 Reddit Tumblr Pinterest0 0 Likes
